The Way We Worked, a Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition, will open at Allegany Museum in Cumberland on February 4, 2017. Each of the five Museum on Main Street (MoMS) venues chosen to host "The Way We Worked" develops a complementary exhibit highlighting their community’s local work stories and histories. Local exhibits and related programming will highlight the often-untold stories of people in each host site’s community. Allegany Museum's companion exhibit is focused on the development of safe workplaces and the rise of unions in "How Our Working Lives Have Changed: Allegany County 1877-2017."
