This year’s One Maryland One Book pick is The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See and it chronicles the lives of two girls living on the Korean island of Jeju during the 1930’s and 1940’s. Illustrator Seo Kim of Towson University’s Illustration program has visited the island and will reflect on her time there as she creates a digital work of art. Kim’s storytelling prowess and artistic skill will make for an exciting event that will give participants an inside look at how digital artworks are created and what life is like on modern Jeju.
