Kinnections:Discovering African American Roots

October 22 @ 5:00 pm7:00 pm

Inspired by One Maryland One Book selection Kin: Rooted in Hope by Carole Boston Weatherford, this class invites participants to begin or deepen their journey into African American genealogy. Like the author, who uncovers her family’s legacy through powerful verse and historical research, attendees will explore tools and strategies to trace their own family histories, acknowledging both the challenges and the resilience embedded in African American lineage. This workshop blends historical context, hands-on research skills, and creative reflection to help you connect with your roots and preserve your story. Pre-registration is required. Space is limited.
