Bringing the Humanities to Life is a monthly virtual webinar series that explores how the humanities enrich and transform various fields. Each session will feature experts discussing the importance of integrating literature, history, philosophy, and the social sciences in industries such as technology, healthcare, sports, and environmentalism.

In this session of Bringing the Humanities to Life, we’ll be exploring the intersection of the humanities and finances.

We often talk about money in numbers: budgets, interest rates, asset accumulation, returns. But the humanities ask us to look deeper: at the stories we tell about who deserves financial security and freedom; the way money intersects with race, gender, class, and power; and the cultural narratives that shape how we relate to wealth and worth.

History, literature, philosophy, and the social sciences are all at work every time we make a financial decision, navigate a bank, or think about our future.

Financial freedom is not just arithmetic. It is a mirror for our values, our identity, and our communities.
