To support Maryland Humanities is to invest in Marylanders and the communities we call home.

If your life has been influenced by the power of the humanities, you understand the importance of the work we do. Literature, history, philosophy, and ethics help us understand what it means to be human. Through partnerships and programming, Maryland Humanities works to ensure that the humanities empower us to thrive in our daily lives. In promoting lifelong learning, thoughtful dialogue, and the healthy exchange of ideas, we help solve problems and enrich people’s lives.

Your support is essential.

By making a tax-deductible contribution, you enable us to continue to deliver high-quality free or low-cost public programming to more and more Marylanders each year. Think about your family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. Who would benefit from a vibrant One Maryland One Book discussion? Do you know a young person who would be inspired by researching a historical person or event for Maryland History Day? Could your community find shared meaning in a Museum on Main Street local exhibition? At Maryland Humanities, we work hard to create educational and cultural experiences that matter. Won’t you help us share them with more groups of people, in more places around our state? Learn more about Maryland Humanities programs.

  • Planned Giving
Help ensure that the next generation of Marylanders will have access to public humanities programs.

When you make a planned gift to Maryland Humanities, you leave a vital legacy. You demonstrate your passionate commitment to the humanities and lifelong learning and leave a lasting testament to your values. You also provide a measure of future stability, enabling us to better plan for sustained service to youth, adults, and elders in years to come.

At this time, you may make a bequest by including a provision in your will or by naming Maryland Humanities as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy.

  • The Legacy Circle

  • Workplace Giving: Maryland Charity Campaign, United Way

If you participate in your company’s annual workplace giving campaigns, chances are you can support Maryland Humanities with a payroll pledge or direct gift.

We participate in one of the three government workplace giving campaigns:

    • Maryland Charity Campaign: Code# 52-1102799

You also may designate us as a beneficiary of your giving if your company runs a United Way of Central Maryland campaign. We suggest looking for us by name or with our EIN# 52-1102799.

Due to changes to their fee structure, we no longer participate in the Combined Federal Campaign. If you formerly supported us via the CFC, please consider making a fee-free gift directly to us using the DONATE TODAY button above. You can even set up a recurring gift to mimic a payroll deduction schedule if preferred.
