Charm City [OMOB Film Screening & Discussion]

November 7 @ 11:00 am1:00 pm

Join us for a special screening of Charm City, a documentary that explores Baltimore through the experiences of residents, community leaders, and activists working to create positive change in their neighborhoods. The film examines themes of community, resilience, social challenges, and the ongoing efforts toward reform in a changing city.

Following the screening, we will discuss connections between Charm City and the 2026 One Maryland One Book selection, No Sense in Wishing: Essays on Black Music, Belonging, and Baltimore by Lawrence Burney. Together, we will explore themes of identity, belonging, Baltimore’s cultural landscape, and the ways communities respond to moments of change and transformation.

This program is presented in connection with the 2026 One Maryland One Book theme, “Revolution, Reaction, Reform,” which highlights stories of change, challenge, and the pursuit of a better future.

One Maryland One Book is a program of Maryland Humanities, sponsored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Maryland State Library Agency.
