Become a Program Partner with One Maryland One Book and receive reading guides, bookmarks, and posters.
Each year, One Maryland One Book partners with high schools, libraries, universities, and other organizations to distribute free paperback copies of the OMOB title and hold programs or events in the fall.
This year, in accordance with our theme “Revolution, Reaction, and Reform,” we’re also inviting for local agencies, cultural institutions, and community organizations interested in telling stories of ideas, actions, or events that inspire change – political, historical, economic, and/or social. These changes can can be small or large in their moment – but have far-reaching impacts throughout time. Think of it as a “domino effect” – how does the story of a single event allow us to better understand how we are impacted across Maryland’s communities?
Sound like you? Get involved! The process is simple:
1. Sign up!
The deal is simple: if you’ll put on a program that explore the themes and topics of our book, we’ll send you a batch of copies — for free. Fill out our Program Partner Form to sign up.
2. Distribute and promote!
Get the book to your audiences! Remind them when and where the event will take place. Be sure to get your event on our calendar as well, along with many other OMOB events happening across the state.
3. Discuss, engage, and learn!
Take in the truly “novel” experience of connecting with members in your community over the shared experience of reading the same book. We welcome programming that uses the book’s themes and topics beyond reading it! There’s nothing else like it — and the diversity of perspectives and experiences each brings broaden what we take away from the page and each other.
Find images and language to use in your program promotion, including book cover, author bio, sponsor logos, and more.
Summer Virtual Partner Sessions
Maryland Humanities is inviting organizations within fields of culture work, community to join as partners for our 2026 One Maryland One Book (OMOB) program. As Maryland’s biggest book club, OMOB distributes books to diverse partners across the state who will bring their communities into conversation across the state.
We invite you to join us in this partnership by designing, leading, and promoting an OMOB event or program in conjunction in Fall 2026. At the information session, you will get a chance to:
- Learn about the 2026 OMOB programming & author tour
- Brainstorm ideas for a program or event, including what type of programming or activities to use and how it will serve your community
- Connect and network with other organizations in the state and share program ideas, tools, and resources.

Keep the conversation going with a book club
We love to hear about great conversations and stories of all the interesting book-related programs you attended. It’s not unusual for One Maryland One Book conversations to inspire participants to start a new book club. If you are interested in starting a book club, we recommend that you take a peek at the I love libraries website.
