Maryland Humanities believes that public health and safety are top priorities.
We continue to monitor on a daily basis both federal and state guidance on COVID-19/the Coronavirus. The health and peace of mind of our staff, board, partners, grantees, and program participants is of paramount importance. For now, all Maryland Humanities activities through July 31 are either postponed, cancelled, or happening digitally or virtually. We will make decisions soon about programming scheduled for later dates.
We have provided program-specific updates on relevant pages for all active programs, grants, and networks. We will also keep our Events calendar updated. We recommend that you periodically visit us for the latest information on the status of program and grant-supported events as well as remote work hours for staff.
For now we ask our partners and grantees who host activities and events to monitor the situation in your own communities, follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Maryland Department of Health recommendations, use your discretion in determining if events will be rescheduled or cancelled, and keep our staff informed of your decisions.
Recipients of our CARES Act Emergency Relief Grants Fund, which will provide critical financial support to qualifying nonprofits throughout Maryland who play a vital role in their communities through public humanities programming, have been announced.
Direct any questions or feedback to Maryland Humanities staff via email, as all phone lines, including our main number, are now set to go to voicemail.
As of June 25 we remain operational, with staff working remotely from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Thank you for your continued support. Be safe.
