Maryland Humanities Welcomes Julia (Julie) Madden to Board of Directors
Howard County Resident is Gubernatorial Appointee
(Baltimore, MD) – Maryland Humanities welcomes Julia (Julie) Madden, appointed by Governor Larry Hogan, to its Board of Directors.
Madden comes to Maryland Humanities with a breadth of experience, including her previous role as the Director of Arts and Community Initiatives at the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. Most recently, Madden served as the Interim Director at Maryland State Arts Council. She also brings fifteen years as a futures and stockbroker in the financial services arena to the organization.
Madden has been active on many boards and commissions including Maryland Citizens for the Arts, Maryland State Arts Council, Maryland Historical Society, Maryland Commission on Artistic Property, Maryland World War I Centennial Commission, Baltimore Museum of Art (ex-officio), and Walters Art Museum (ex-officio). Madden is an alumna of Leadership Maryland and received her M.A. in the History of Decorative Arts from the Smithsonian-Corcoran College of Art and Design in 2012. She resides in Howard County.
