Maryland Humanities announces a total of $910,000 in funding for 91 Maryland nonprofit organizations ($10,000 per organization) through its Sustaining Humanities through the American Rescue Plan (SHARP) Recovery Grants Fund.

Maryland Humanities is pleased to welcome two new members to the organization’s Board of Directors, Kendra Brown and Kimberly R. Moffitt, who reside in Prince George’s County and Baltimore County, respectively. The Board of Directors has also appointed a Chair Elect, Alicia Jones McLeod.
Seven Maryland teachers and one other history education professional have been selected for Inspiring Student Research with the Library of Congress, a National History Day® professional development program. Professionals hail from Baltimore, Easton, Marriottsville, Sykesville, and Snow Hill.

Maryland Humanities has chosen the first four sites to host Crossroads: Change in Rural America, a traveling Smithsonian Institution exhibition, which will tour five communities throughout Maryland from September 2022 to June 2023. This is through Maryland Humanities Museum on Main Street program.
